Independence Day of Ukraine and Independence Day of our school - Unbreakable Ukraine

Independence Day of Ukraine and Independence Day of our school

🥳 We received our own school license!

On the day when Ukrainians celebrate the most difficult day of Independence in the history of our free state, the “First Ukrainian School in Poland” also became independent!

In Ukraine, we received a state license to conduct educational activities:

— at the level of complete general secondary education;
— at the level of preschool education
— in the field of out-of-school education;

🎉 This is an outstanding event that we only dreamed of. We were told that it was impossible and would not be possible in less than two years – but we managed to do that!

This means that we work officially and the state and the Ministry of Education and Science recognize our school as an educational institution. We will be able to issue official documents of the state sample ourselves. Our stamps will be on them. From now on, we are free and strong 🙌 Because we will be able to work better and faster. Also, this means that we ourselves will bear 100% responsibility.

We celebrate two Independence days in one day!

The director of our independent school will be Olena Pavlenko from Kyiv. She has almost 20 years of teaching experience, for 10 years she headed the Department of Education and Science of Kyiv City State Administration. And for the last 6 years she headed the International Lyceum “MAUP”, she has the degrees of candidate of pedagogical sciences and doctoral student of the Institute of Higher Education.

Olena Pavlenko

Here’s what she says about joining the foundation’s team of educators:

“I express my great respect for the Unbreakable Ukraine Foundation. It is so hard work to create such a project during the war, in another country, to give Ukrainian children the opportunity to learn in their native language without stress. So that later they could return home to their families, to their fathers and native schools, and there were no difficulties in the educational process. I will apply all my experience in the “First Ukrainian School in Poland” with great respect, inspiration and enthusiasm.” (c)

Mrs. Olena studied at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv at the Faculty of Cybernetics. After graduation, no one went to work at school, Olena was the only one from the entire class to choose the pedagogical path. After receiving the diploma, she worked in various responsible positions. She was the deputy director for educational and scientific work in Kyiv gymnasiums, and held the position of a researcher at the Borys Grinchenko University. For the next 10 years, she worked in the civil service at the Department of Science and Innovative Technologies. All progressive ideas in Ukrainian education passed through this department.

Willing to return to work with children, Olena together with a colleague founded the MAUP international lyceum and headed it for 6 years. Under her management, the lyceum developed rapidly, many new methods of working with children were developed, in particular in the field of research work, and modern formats of interaction with parents were developed to improve the educational process. 62% of lyceum graduates enter the most prestigious universities of Ukraine, another 26% – foreign universities. All her achievements Ms.Olena strive to adapt and apply in the “First Ukrainian School in Poland”.

The new headmistress of our school was honored with honorary awards of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine for her contribution to the development of education the Excellence of Education badge and the Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi badge. Mrs. Olena is sincerely devoted to her remarkable pedagogical path and will now happily continue it at the “First Ukrainian School in Poland”.
